Tom Stern, Iris De Anda & Billy Burgos

Liz Newstat from Chevalier's and Rich Ferguson of ALU! are proud to present another month of first-rate readings. Tom Stern is the author of the novels My Vanishing Twin and Sutterfeld, You Are Not A Hero. He is also the writer/director of the feature films Half-Dragon Sanchez and This Is A Business. Tom's films have played festivals across the United States and in Europe. He holds a BA in Philosophy from Eckerd College and an MFA in Film Production from Chapman University.

Also reading at ALU! this month will be  Iris De Anda,  who hosts The Writers Underground Open Mic at the Eastside Cafe every third Thursday of the month and is author of CODESWITCH: Fires From Mi Corazon. She hosts 100 Segundos de Soledad on La Banda Elastica Radio and forms part of the all female rock band The Bloody Gypsys

Last, but certainly not least, we'll have Billy Burgos, an Angeleno poet/writer/painter. Along with his published poetry collection Eulogy To An Unknown Tree, Billy's one man portrait painting show The Faces Of LA Poetry has been shown at The Mike Kelley Gallery in Venice Ca and The Last Bookstore in DTLA.  His work (both art and poetry) has been featured at KCET and in numerous literary and art journals.
