Allan Hancock, and his rise to become one of the city's wealthiest men. Learn of the challenges the residents have faced to maintain its integrity: the threat of a freeway route through the neighborhood, plans to remove palm trees and the threat of Mc-Mansions.
Author Jane Gilman is the past editor/publisher of the “Larchmont Chronicle.” a newspaper covering mid-city communities including Hancock Park, Windsor Square and Miracle Mile. She retired in 2015 after 52 years. A native of Rye, New York, she is a graduate of Beloit College (Wisc.) Pre-publishing, she was a copywriter, recreational director and psychiatric aide.
