Aline Brosh McKenna Q&A for
her Graphic Novel Jane
Sunday, October 1st 5:30 PM
Aline Brosh McKenna, the screenwriter who adapted "The Devil Wears Prada" for film and creator of the hit CW show "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" (third season premieres the 13th), will be at Chevalier's to read and give a Q&A regarding her new graphic novel, Jane. Jane is a modern reinterpretation of Jane Eyre, taking place in NYC instead of Northern England, and featuring a Mr. Rochester more akin to Bruce Wayne than a dashing man in a suit and tie. Featuring artwork by cartoonist Ramon K. Perez, this gorgeous retelling is going to keep you flipping the pages, whether you know the end or not.
Ms. McKenna is an award-winning filmmaker and one of the highest-grossing female screenwriters of all time. Her feature film credits include the worldwide hit and perennial wedding favorite, "27 Dresses," starring Katherine Heigl; "Morning Glory," starring Rachel McAdams and Harrison Ford; the Cameron Crowe-directed, Matt Damon-starrer, "We Bought a Zoo;” and her adaptation of the musical “Annie,” which was acclaimed for its diverse cast and unique approach to updating the Broadway classic.
